Global Health and HumanWellbeing
Global health focuses on studying, researching, and implementing strategies to improve health and promote equity worldwide, addressing transnational health challenges through cross-disciplinary collaboration. It combines preventive population strategies with individual clinical care (Rutgers Global Health Institute, 2024). Well-being refers to a state that meets human needs, both material and non-material, enabling individuals to pursue goals and thrive (Ipbs, 2024).Global health and well-being are interconnected, both crucial for the development of sustainable societies. While global health improves population health, well-being addresses a broader range of factors impacting quality of life. Together, they form the foundation for a thriving, equitable global society (Faghy et al, 2023).Global health aims to improve outcomes, reduce disparities, and address health determinants across regions. It addresses various issues, including infectious and non-communicable diseases, while human well-being aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), working toward a better quality of life globally (Raviola et al, 2011; Khorram-Manesh, 2023).Although much research covers global health and well-being separately, there is a lack of integrated studies examining their interconnections and shared challenges.
