Supplemental material for the paper entitled "Designing a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) tool for Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs)"

Scenario analysis by sales and operations planning (S&OP) provides visibility to enterprises. However, to reach aligned plans, S&OP involves more than regular meetings of a group of decision-makers. Therefore, there must be a system enabling information sharing among users. On the one hand, custom S&OP models are often accessible via spreadsheets, which are not multi-user tools. On the other hand, multi-user S&OP systems often implement generic models through ERP-based APS, requiring continuous IT support and infrastructure. Besides, such systems are not tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which find themselves ill-equipped to face new planning possibilities. Therefore, this paper presents a simplified multi-user S&OP tool adaptable to general optimisation programs concerning procurement, production, transportation, and product delivery for integrated scenario planning in SMEs. The cloud-based tool adopts model-template-view standards with input data forms, an optimisation solver, and a database to produce financial and operational plans on standard reports. Additionally, the company's social and environmental responsibility programs can bring new constraints to decision-makers' evaluation, favouring scenario analysis from a joint quantitative and qualitative aspect.
