HashCloud: A Complete Microblogging Platform Using MERN Stack
HashCloud is a microblogging platform built using the MERN stack, combining MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. This paper explores how the platform is designed and implemented to offer modern social media features while solving problems commonly found in existing systems. Many platforms today either lack real-time engagement or rely on third-party cloud services, which can raise privacy concerns. HashCloud provides real-time messaging with read receipts, interactive post features like likes and retweets, pop-up notifications, and personalised feeds. What sets HashCloud apart is its self-hosted, fully integrated nature there is no reliance on external plugins or cloud tools. The paper demonstrates how developers can create full-featured, scalable applications that give users both control and engagement in a single system.
