Investigation on Impact Test of Sisal Fiber/S-Glass Fiber/Silica (Sio2) Reinforced Hybrid Polymer Matrix Composites.
The choice of material in the industrial sector has drawn the attention of numerous research researchers in recent years. For a variety of reasons, the choice of material is influenced by the features and uses of the material. Combining the two materials can improve their qualities for a given use. Composite materials are made by combining two or more basic materials to create a material with improved properties. Making composites of Sisal and S-glass fiber reinforced with epoxy resin is the goal of this project. Initially, sisal was chemically treated with a 5% NaOH alkaline solution. Silica (SiO2) was then added to the composite slab in varying weight percentages, such as 1%, 1.5%, and 2%, during the production process. The created composite was subsequently processed using water jet machining in accordance with ASTM D256 guidelines for the Izod impact test. It was discovered that the produced composites' impact energy had significantly increased after chemical treatment.
