Assessment of Traffic Noise Impact and Noise Barrier Effectiveness in Residential Areas: Case Study of the Kunciran–Cengkareng Toll Road
The construction of the Kunciran Batu Ceper Cengkareng toll road is part of the construction of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road II. One of the environmental impacts due to the operation of the new toll road is noise from vehicle sounds. This research aims to determine the traffic movement pattern and noise levels that occur in the Banjar Wijaya residential area. Traffic movement observations were carried out on two lanes from 06.00 to 19.00. The noise intensity was obtained using a traffic noise prediction calculation model, namely the CoRTN model and using a Sound Level Meter (SLM) tool. The noise intensity from the noise prediction with the CoRTN model was 51.40 dB (A) during the research, Data from BUJT Kunciran Cengkareng 49.55 dB (A). Noise intensity using the Sound Level Meter tool: during RPL 72.40 dB (A), research 75.18 dB (A). The noise intensity with the CoRTN Model is smaller than the Sound Level Meter tool. The procurement of sound barrier construction adjacent to the Banjar Wijaya residential is appropriate because the noise intensity value at the location is above the noise level standard for housing and settlement areas of 55 dB (A).
