Girl Scouts of the Philippines Programs and Gender Equality Empowerment of Maco South District

This study examined the extent of Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Program implementation and its relationship to promoting gender equality and empowerment among female youth participants. Utilizing a quantitative-descriptive correlational design, the study focused on four key components of the GSP program: Leadership Development Program, Community Service Projects, Gender-Specific Empowerment Workshop, and Gender Sensitivity Awareness Campaign. It also measured gender equality and empowerment across three dimensions: gender and equality awareness, empowerment, and personal development. A total of 169 participants responded to the validated survey instrument. Findings revealed that all GSP program components were implemented extensively, with Community Service Projects and Gender Sensitivity Awareness Campaign receiving the highest functional impact. Gender equality and empowerment were also promoted to a considerable extent. Correlation and regression analyses showed a significant and positive relationship between the implementation of the GSP program and the promotion of gender equality and empowerment (r = 0.497, p < .001). Furthermore, community service and awareness campaigns emerged as significant predictors. The study recommends strengthening programs, conducting periodic evaluations, and aligning policies with gender-responsive education. The study is recommended for publication in an esteemed academic journal.
