Investigation of the Relationship between Friction and Vibration in Engineering Systems: A Computational and Experimental Analysis
Friction and vibration are inherently linked phenomena in mechanical and tribological systems, influencing performance, wear, and stability. This study investigates the correlation between frictional forces and vibrational responses in various engineering applications using both computational simulations and experimental methods. By analyzing surface interactions, energy dissipation, and resonance effects, we explore how friction-induced vibrations impact structural integrity and dynamic behavior. Simulations are conducted using finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) where applicable, while experimental validation is performed using accelerometers and tribometers. The findings provide insights into optimizing material selection, surface treatments, and damping strategies to minimize undesirable vibratory effects and enhance system efficiency.
