Violence against Women and Gender Roles
Violence against women is a serious social problem worldwide today and constitutes a major obstacle to the progress of societies. This form of violence is not limited to physical attacks and injuries, but also includes various and complex forms such as emotional, sexual, and economic abuse. Women's exposure to such attacks is a result of structural inequalities that are further exacerbated by the influence of gender roles. Gender roles are a complex system that shapes individuals' behaviors and identities according to societal expectations, norms, and values. This system reinforces men's pursuit of power and control while increasing the discrimination and violence women face, further weakening their position and rights in society. As a result, this situation negatively impacts social change and development processes, making it impossible for women to have equal rights in all areas. In this context, this study aims to discuss the psychological effects of hypnosis in light of scientific data and to evaluate both its positive contributions and limitations through a comprehensive approach.
