DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS IN ESP CONTEXTS: A TASK-BASED APPROACH FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS IN UZBEKISTAN

This study explores the effectiveness of a task-based approach to developing speaking skills in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), with a focus on medical professionals in Uzbekistan. Drawing on recent needs analysis, the paper presents a series of communicative tasks designed to reflect real-life medical contexts. Findings from classroom trials demonstrate a significant increase in learners’ fluency, accuracy, and confidence in professional speaking situations.
