A New Investment Strategy for High-Tech and Deep-Tech Startups
High-tech and deep-tech startups are at the forefront of innovation but face significant investment challenges due to lengthy development cycles, high risk, and capital-intensive requirements. Traditional venture capital models often fail to provide the necessary strategic support, leading to high failure rates, particularly in emerging markets. This paper proposes a novel investment strategy integrating financial backing with structured incubation, intellectual property (IP) securitisation, and milestone-based governance. By leveraging IP-backed financial instruments and hands-on business development, this approach enhances investor confidence, mitigates risk, and fosters sustainable startup growth. The study also explores legal, regulatory, and financial considerations associated with IP monetisation and structured investment frameworks. This strategic model presents a compelling solution for venture capitalists, institutional investors, and policymakers seeking to optimise high-tech investment returns while reducing associated risks.
