The Neutrino as Harmonic Debris: A Mechanical Model of Mass and Oscillation
The origin of neutrino mass and flavor oscillation remains one of the greatest unsolved problems in physics. This work presents a mechanical solution derived from the harmonic framework established in a companion paper (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.16089214). We posit the neutrino is not a primary resonance, but "harmonic debris"—a residual wave packet of angular momentum shed during the geometric collapse of unstable particles. In this model, the three "flavors" are geometric imprints on a single fundamental object, and "oscillation" is the physical tumbling of this object as it propagates. This geometric interpretation leads to a constrained relationship between the mass-squared splittings. By combining this geometric constraint with data from oscillation experiments and cosmological observations, we derive a direct, falsifiable prediction for the intrinsic mass of the neutrino: m_0 approx 0.0087 eV/c^2. This calculated mass is astonishingly identical to the universe's fundamental non-linearity constant (k), the single parameter governing all other particle masses within the Quantum Action Theory. This model resolves the long-standing mystery of the neutrino's nature, providing a complete, mechanically coherent, and testable picture. The ghost has been revealed as a gear in the universal machine, as detailed in the full monograph of this theory (Monograph DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.16087528).
