Optimizing Digital Access: Evaluating the Use and Awareness of E-Resources at KRC, University of Mumbai
Abstract: This study examines the awareness, utilization, and satisfaction levels of electronic resources among postgraduate and research students at the Knowledge Resource Center (KRC), University of Mumbai. Using a random sampling survey and data analysis through Microsoft Excel, the findings reveal that while 61.05% of users access e-resources daily, 48.42% are only somewhat aware, and 26.32% have very little awareness, highlighting a need for enhanced user education. Additionally, 45.26% of respondents rely on search engines, whereas only 34.74% use the library website, suggesting the necessity for a more user-friendly institutional platform. A significant 86.31% of users support additional training programs, emphasizing the demand for structured workshops, faculty collaborations, and better promotional efforts to enhance e-resource literacy. To bridge the awareness gap and optimize usage, the study recommends regular orientation sessions, digital literacy initiatives, and improved access mechanisms, ensuring greater research efficiency and academic success for students at Mumbai University.
