Emergence of Physical Laws from ∞-Topos Structures
We present a categorical approach to the emergence of physical laws from the cohesive structure of ∞-topoi, providing a formal mathematical framework for understanding the diversity of possible physical universes within a hypothetical multiverse. We establish that each universe can be modeled as an ∞-topos equipped with particular cohesive structures that constrain its fundamental physical laws. By analyzing the intrinsic modal operators of cohesive ∞-topoi, we formulate the mathematical conditions for spacetime, gauge fields, and quantum mechanical phenomena. As a case study, we demonstrate how our own universe can be characterized as an ∞-topos with specific cohesive modalities that accommodate the known laws of quantum field theory and general relativity. We conclude with falsifiable predictions regarding quantum gravity phenomena and potential experimental signatures that could validate this framework. This approach provides a novel perspective on the foundations of physics and suggests that the diversity of physical laws across a multiverse might be understood in terms of variations in categorical structures.
