கரஸ மகனன நடகஙகளம ஆளமயம
The situation in Chennai where theatre groups chose the stage to perform their plays, brought tickets to the audience and took on all the responsibilities themselves began to change in the 1950s. Sabhas began to emerge in Chennai and other cities. Their aim was to bring literature, music and drama to the people. These Sabhas recruited members. They arranged for those members to see two or three performances of music and drama every month. They created opportunities for the groups performing the plays to reach the people with their works. This situation can be said to have lasted until 1990. That period was the golden age of the Tamil theatre world. In Chennai alone, 130 Sabhas were formed, and Sabhas and Tamil Sangams were formed in major cities throughout Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, opportunities came to Tamil plays from other states as well. The theatre world got great personalities from the theatre Sabhas that functioned in this way. The aim of this article is to identify the theatrical personality of Crazy Mohan, a notable one among them.
