Comparative Study on Selected Physical and Physiological Variables of Intercollegiate Cricket Players

The purpose of the study was to compare physical fitness and physiological variables To achieve thepurpose of the study 15 sri Ramakrishna mission vidyalaya maruthi college of physical educationintercollegiate level cricket players and 15 sri Ramakrishna mission vidyalaya collegeof arts & scienceintercollegiate level cricket players were selected from sri Ramakrishna mission vidyalaya, coimbatore. The player’s age ranged from 18- 23 years. The speed, and heart rate tests were selected as criterionvariables for this study. Speed were taken from 50 meter dash test in seconds and heart rate was assessd bybiomonotor in seconds. The experimental design for the study was static group comparison design. Thedata collected from the two groups on selected variables were statistically examined by independent ‘t’ test.In all cases 0.05 level was fixed as significant level to test the hypothesis. There was no significantdifference between sri Ramakrishna mission vidyalaya maruthi college of physical education and artscollege of intercollegiate level cricket players. There was no significant difference between between sriRamakrishna mission vidyalaya maruthi college of physical education and arts college of intercollegiatelevel cricket players on speed and heart rate.
