NovaFly: A Bioinspired Micro Aerial Agent for Environmental Monitoring

NovaFly is a bioinspired micro aerial concept modeled after the unique elastic wingbeat mechanism and metabolic efficiency of fruit flies. Designed for environmental monitoring in air, water, and soil, this system incorporates a flexible PowerBand recharging unit, capable of remote inductive or solar-based energy transfer. The project proposes a hybrid approach: either developing a synthetic bionic agent or employing real flies equipped with biosensors as living detectors. NovaFly presents a novel fusion of biomimicry, sustainability, and miniaturized sensor networks with the potential to aid in pollution detection and climate observation.
