THE ROLE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN AUTOMATING CADASTRAL PROCESSES THROUGH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN REMOTE SENSING

Expanding on this, the increasing sophistication of AI and RS tools applied to cadastral challenges necessitates a nuanced understanding of English, not just for basic operation but for advanced customization, troubleshooting, and adaptation to local contexts. This paper argues that the lack of adequate English proficiency in non- English-speaking regions represents a significant impediment to fully realizing the transformative potential of these technologies in land administration. By analyzing the experiences of countries that have embarked on digital cadastral transformations, we highlight both the challenges encountered due to language barriers and the strategies adopted to mitigate these effects. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the interconnectedness of global research and development in AI and RS, asserting that English serves as the crucial linguistic bridge for cadastral professionals to stay abreast of cutting-edge innovations and contribute to international best practices. Ultimately, this paper advocates for targeted interventions, including language training and the development of multilingual resources, to ensure equitable access to and effective utilization of AI and RS technologies in cadastral systems worldwide, fostering greater efficiency, transparency, and sustainability in land governance.
