Myopathies
The presence of endomysial inflammation unites the diverse group of acquired myopathies known as inflammatory myopathies. These conditions can currently be divided into five distinctive subsets based on gradually changing clinical, histological, and immunopathological characteristics as well as some autoantibody associations: Inclusion-Body-Myositis (IBM), Necrotizing Autoimmune Myositis (NAM), Dermatomyositis (DM), Polymyositis (PM), and Anti-synthetase syndrome-overlap myositis (Anti-SS-OM). It is necessary to accurately identify each subtype of inflammatory myopathy from the start in order to prevent disease mimics and go forward with early therapy initiation because each fraction has a unique immunopathogenesis, prognosis, and response to immunotherapies. The review outlines the key clinicopathologic features of each subset, emphasizing the value of integrating knowledge of immunopathology, muscle morphology, and clinical neurological evaluation to prevent incorrect diagnosis and treatment plans. The primary autoimmune indicators associated with autoreactive T cells, B cells, autoantibodies, and cytokines are discussed, together with the accompanying myodegenerative characteristics observed in IBM muscles. Most significantly, the
