Literature and Human Values
This research paper explores the vital connection between literature and human values, demonstrating how literary works reflect, shape, and critique the ethical, cultural, and philosophical dimensions of human life. Through an interdisciplinary approach combining literary analysis and ethical philosophy, the study investigates how narratives from diverse cultures and historical periods engage with core human concerns such as justice, empathy, personal growth, and social responsibility. Drawing on the works of authors like Dostoevsky, Morrison, Orwell, Achebe, and Woolf, this paper illustrates how literature functions not only as a mirror of society but also as a transformative medium that fosters understanding and promotes moral reflection. The analysis highlights literature’s capacity to evoke empathy, challenge ideological structures, and cultivate a deeper sense of shared humanity.
