Post-Cholecystectomy Pseudoaneurysm of Hepatic Artery
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy being minimally invasive surgical procedure has largely replaced open cholecystectomy in treatment of diseased gallbladder in recent years. However, several complications can occur with this procedure, with vascular complications accounting for 0.8%. Hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare but serious and often lethal complication secondary to injury to arterial wall causing bleed in adjacent tissues and thus forming hematoma. We present such rare complication in a young female later managed by embolization.
