From CT Scans to 3D Models: A Comprehensive Approach for Insect-Based Research
Insects play a vital role in sustaining ecosystems. Telecommunication antennas emit RF-EMFs, potentially impacting insects, with exposure likely to change as networks evolve from 4G to 5G [1]. Pollinators like bees near strong antennas may face signi cant RF-EMF exposure, leading to biological responses, though the e ects remain unclear [2] The primary objective of this project is to establish a reusable work for transforming insect CT scans into anatomically accurate 3D models. While electromagnetic simulations serve as a use case, the main focus is to create a exible pipeline that accommodates the unique challenges of insect CT data, using free software to ensure broad compatibility with various research tools and applications
