Building a Resilient Workforce: Leadership Readiness as the Key to Sustainable Growth in Banking

Abstract: Leadership development is essential for long-term success in the evolving banking sector. Yet, traditional reviews often overlook leadership potential by focusing only on financial results. This study explores how integrating Leadership Readiness Assessment (LRA) into appraisals can support leadership pipeline growth and succession planning, highlighting which benefits banking professionals value most. Thirty senior managers are chosen from three private banks in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, participated. Using T-Test, Multiple Regression, and the Friedman Test, the study assessed views on LRA inclusion. Reliability was confirmed with Cronbach’s Alpha (≥0.7). Managers favoured Leadership Readiness Assessment, especially for succession planning and leadership growth resulting into long term organizational sustainability. Keywords: Leadership Readiness Assessment, Performance Appraisal, Banking Sector, Succession Planning, Sustainable Workforce
