IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF GRADE 1 MATHEMATICS LEARNERS USING DIGITAL MODULES

The study was conducted at Aguilar Integrated School during the School Year 2021 – 2022 aimed to propose supplementary learning material in improving the math skills of Grade 1 learners to further and efficiently teach the most essential learning competencies covered for the Fourth Quarter. The descriptive research design was employed to this study. The researcher made use of pre-experimental methods of research. It is one–group pretest-posttest design. Based on the findings of the study, the teacher-researcher therefore concludes that the achievement level of 30 learners (30) who took the pre-test prior to the use of digital drill modules was unsatisfactory. The result was the indicator of low performance of grade one learners. After 8 weeks of teaching intervention using the digital modules, the learner’s achievement skills were improved to excellence. The researcher provided supplementary instructional materials which had motivated their interest to participate and engaged in the learning sessions. They were greatly enlightened about the lesson with help of the digital modules. Results showed that Digital Modules as a supplemental tool played a vital role in this kind of new normal teaching and learning modalities. Furthermore, it showed positive feedback to the learners and parents to have this kind of intervention in imparting the support for the teacher in learning at home in this time of pandemic
