Variação Temporal do Índice de Vegetação por Diferença Normalizada (NDVI): Processamento de Imagens Landsat de 2000 a 2024 na Região Centro-Sul da Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brasil

This study investigated the temporal variation of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in the Central-Southern region of Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil, using Landsat satellite images from 2000 to 2024. The analysis revealed that the NDVI median ranged from 0.2139 to 0.2931 and showed a recent numerical increase over the past three years. The trend in NDVI values indicated evidence of an increase in vegetation density, with values above 0.33, suggesting an expansion of vegetated areas, possibly due to intensive agricultural practices and/or conservation efforts. These results reinforce the effectiveness of NDVI as a tool for monitoring and sustainable management of natural resources, providing a foundation for future studies and conservation policies inthe region.
