Clarification of terms: comparative analysis of terminology, nomenclature and professional vocabulary in specialized communication

Abstract. This article examines the conceptual distinctions between terms, nomenclature, and professional vocabulary within specialized language systems. Through analysis of existing scholarly perspectives, it establishes a framework for understanding these categories as distinct yet interrelated linguistic phenomena. The paper addresses functional-pragmatic differences and explores how these specialized lexical units operate across scientific, technical, and professional domains, with particular attention to their theoretical or practical orientations. Additionally, it considers the challenges of terminological accuracy in multilingual contexts, using the example of Uzbek language terminology.
