Appraisal of Awareness of Green Lifestyle among Consumers in Nigeria

The green revolution in contemporary times has become a global concern for governments, organizations, and societies. Despite the apparent achievements in raising consumer awareness and education programs about green lifestyles in developed economies, this phenomenon seems elusive in developing economies, particularly in Nigeria. Consequently, this study aims to assess the level of green lifestyle awareness among consumers in Nigeria. A survey approach was used to collect information from 327 participants across five commercial cities in Nigeria. The findings revealed that awareness of green lifestyles, green products, the impacts of green products on the environment, and the influence of green products on purchasing decisions remains very low. Therefore, there should be a concerted effort to enhance consumer sensitization in Nigeria.
