Cross-Modular Signals in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence: An Application of the Law of Observation

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) traditionally focuses on nar-rowband electromagnetic signals, potentially overlooking complex, cross-modularmessages spanning multiple physical domains. Drawing on the “Law of Observa-tion” (Sambey, 2025), which posits that reality emerges from a probabilistic DataSubstrate shaped by observation, this paper proposes that alien signals may in-tegrate electromagnetic, gravitational, quantum, and temporal components. Suchsignals, analogous to encrypted broadcasts, could be tailored to human empiricalcapabilities yet require cross-scale pattern recognition to detect. Using existingdatasets from radio surveys (Breakthrough Listen), gravitational wave detectors(LIGO), and quantum experiments, we outline a method to test this hypothesis. This framework challenges SETI to expand its observational lens, suggesting thatcontact may hinge on decoding similarities across measurable scales.
