GRAPHENE AND GRAPHENE OXIDE IN CONCRETE
The article presents an experimental and theoretical study of graphite and graphite oxide in standard concrete. Improvement of the mechanical properties of concrete is noted at a concentration of (0.05 – 0.07)% of the concrete mass. A model of graphite splitting by aqueous solutions is obtained using only experimental data. A model of nanocracks in concrete is proposed. The length of a nanocrack is taken to be the thickness of the surface layer of a solid, which for metals is from 1 to 6 nm, and for standard concrete is about 60 nm, i.e. it is a nanostructure. For standard concrete: Lnm = 60 nm; Lμm = 6 microns; LC = 0.6 mm. These data are typical without external load, without changing the environment. The number of cracks in concrete in the nanostructure region I is 105, in the mesoscopic region II is 107 and in the pre-destruction region III is about 109. The addition of graphene and graphene oxide to the cement mortar significantly strengthens (by 4-5 times) standard concrete and reduces the number of nanocracks/
