BackOnTrack: Applications of protein sequence models in next-generation plant breeding
Dr. Guillaume is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics, Aarhus University, Denmark. He works at the interface of quantitative genetics, evolutionary genetics, and machine learning. His research aims to detect the effects of genetic variants for applications in basic plant biology and crop improvement. After a PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in plant breeding and plant genetics, Guillaume did a postdoc at Cornell University in machine learning and bioinformatics. Since 2021, he’s been an assistant professor at Aarhus University in Denmark. In his current position, he has worked on various topics related to the effects of genetic variants, including fitness effect prediction by AI and comparative genomics.
