A Study on Water as an Asset: Accounting For Water Rights and Water Resources
Abstract: A vital natural resource, water is necessary for environmental sustainability, economic growth, and human survival. However, its full value is frequently overlooked by conventional accounting frameworks, which results in ineffective management and allocation. This study examines how to account for water rights and resources within financial and environmental accounting frameworks in order to investigate water as an economic asset. We offer integrated accounting models that can improve sustainable water management by analyzing the legal, economic, and environmental aspects of water rights.
