"The Ostrich-Plasma Conjecture: Fractal Spectrum Similarity between Flocking Dynamics and Edge Turbulence"
This paper proposes a novel analogy between the collective movement of low-intelligence biological systems, particularly ostrich flocks, and the behavior of edge-localized turbulence in plasma physics. Using a simple simulation inspired by ostrich flocking, we extract trajectory data, perform Fourier analysis, and discover a clear power-law structure with a spectral exponent near -0.90—strikingly close to that of pre-H-mode edge turbulence in tokamaks. This finding supports the hypothesis that non-cognitive, noisy biological motion can mirror fundamental plasma dynamics. Implications for simplified modeling and cross-domain pattern recognition are discussed.
