Channel Models in LTE Communication Systems

This paper explores radio signal propagation models in various environments, including free space, urban areas, office buildings, and residential dwellings. In addition to mathematical models such as the Okumura-Hata model and its modifications, simplified models for computer-based radio network planning are also discussed (including pedestrian, vehicular, and indoor office models). The study further examines small-scale fading models commonly used in LTE channel simulations. The paper analyzes how the parameters of these models vary depending on the spatial movement of the transmitter and/or receiver, as well as the characteristics of the signal propagation environment.

Abstract

This paper explores radio signal propagation models in various environments, including free space, urban areas, office buildings, and residential dwellings. In addition to mathematical models such as the Okumura-Hata model and its modifications, simplified models for computer-based radio network planning are also discussed (including pedestrian, vehicular, and indoor office models). The study further examines small-scale fading models commonly used in LTE channel simulations. The paper analyzes how the parameters of these models vary depending on the spatial movement of the transmitter and/or receiver, as well as the characteristics of the signal propagation environment.
