A Relational Phase-Based Explanation of Permanent Magnets and Electromagnets

This paper reinterprets the nature of magnetism from first principles using the Law of Connection — a theory that models reality as a network of evolving relational traits like phase, spin, and tension. Rather than viewing magnetic fields as forces generated by particles or current alone, we explore how both permanent magnets and electromagnets represent phase-driven systems seeking least relational tension. Permanent magnets are described as stable, coherent spin-phase structures, while electromagnets are dynamic, tension-injected alignments driven by current. We propose that this difference in coherence may also influence quantum measurement, particularly collapse in entangled spin systems. As such, we outline why collapse experiments using artificial magnetic fields might overlook the deeper relational effect a true coherent magnetic structure could exert — leading us to suggest a new test using permanent magnets to probe spin collapse behavior. This work connects magnetism, phase coherence, and quantum measurement into a unified relational model.
