A Systematic Review Of Wine Tourism Focused Research From A Sustainable Gastronomy Perspective
ABSTRACT This study aims to systematically compile and examine research focused on wine from the perspective of gastronomy tourism. The relevant studies are limited to Web of Science database and wine tourism (156). The studies were identified using criterion sampling techniques, and analyses were conducted based on themes defined through coding techniques that delineated form and content dimensions. It has been determined that research has increased over the last decade, with a particular emphasis on studies related to wine. Furthermore, it has been observed that research in the social sciences predominantly focuses on articles published in English. Additionally, topics such as local products, gastronomic experiences, and culinary culture have been more extensively addressed in the literature. Qualitative research methods are increasingly adopted in these studies, with data primarily derived from surveys, interviews, and secondary sources. The studies frequently present insights on themes such as sustainability, promotion and marketing, and innovation. Future research could focus on the sustainability of product, particularly in light of the increasing challenges related to access to food and water resources in recent years. This could involve examining the plans of producers or governments regarding sustainability or aiming to establish sustainability policies
