What is the role of Social Life Cycle Assessment within the context of Safe and Sustainable-by-Design? An explorative study

This abstract was presented at the conference Circular Economy: The Pathway Towards a Sustainable Development, 11–13 September 2024. It explores the role of Safe and Sustainability-by-Design (SSbD) in the European Green Deal and its connection to Life Cycle Thinking (LCT). The study examines how EU projects address the social dimension of sustainability, particularly through Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), highlighting its potential as a decision-making tool for safer and more sustainable products.
