THE IMPACT OF LEXICAL CHUNKS ON EVALUATING LEXICAL COMPETENCE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL LEARNERS
For primary school students in particular, lexical competence is essential to language learning. This study looks at how lexical chunks—predefined word groups that are frequently used together—help young learners improve and evaluate their lexical competency. Lexical chunks can increase communication accuracy and fluency and provide useful resources for language development. This study examines the advantages of employing lexical chunks in evaluations, useful implementation techniques, and potential difficulties teachers may encounter. The results show that incorporating lexical chunks into instruction and evaluation improves students' capacity for contextual and natural language use.
