TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP APPROACH FOR ENHANCING IMPACTFUL WORSHIP EXPERIENCE IN CHURCH
This paper explores the application of transformational leadership to enhance impactful worship experiences in churches. It provides a theological foundation for leadership by highlighting biblical models such as servant and shepherd leadership exemplified by Jesus Christ and other scriptural figures as well as James MacGregor Burns’ leadership theory exploring transformational leadership approaches, including servant, visionary, adaptive, empowerment, and contextual leadership, and their impact in enhancing spiritual growth, unity, and active participation in church worship. Practical recommendations for worship leaders include adopting Christ-like servant leadership, employing dynamic and participatory worship styles, leveraging technology responsibly, and aligning worship themes with social challenges to inspire holistic transformation. The study concludes by calling church leaders to embrace transformational leadership principles to ensure that worship experiences remain spiritually enriching and culturally relevant, leading to lasting transformation in the lives of congregants.
