THE ROLE OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN CULTIVATING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE FOR EFFECTIVE EXPOSITORY PREACHING
Abstract Effective expository preaching requires more than just theological knowledge and communication skills. It demands a deep understanding of the congregation’s emotional and spiritual needs. Transformational leadership is pivotal in cultivating emotional intelligence, a critical component of effective expository preaching. This paper explores the relationship between transformational leadership and emotional intelligence in the context of expository preaching. It argues that transformational leaders who cultivate emotional intelligence are better equipped to deliver sermons that resonate with their congregation, foster spiritual growth, and promote a deeper understanding of God’s Word. Its analysis highlights the key characteristics of transformational leaders, emotional intelligence components, and expository preaching implications. The paper concludes that cultivating emotional intelligence through transformational leadership is essential for effective expository preaching, enabling preachers to connect with their congregation on a deeper level and facilitate life-changing encounters with God.
