Consistency Assessment and Uncertainty Analysis of Spatial-temporal Characteristics of Evaporation Data in the Greater Mekong Subregion

In our study, we evaluated the consistency and relative uncertainty of four evaporation datasets (ERA5-Land, FLUXCOM, GLDAS, GLEAM) in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) using the Comparison Map Profile (CMP) and Three Corner Hat (TCH) methods. To assist other researchers, we have made our Python code publicly available. The *.npy data uploaded alongside the .py files serve as examples, where m.npy represents the multi-year averages of the four datasets in the GMS region. These can be used to calculate spatial similarity using the CMP method. The CMP method has two variations based on different metrics calculated within the window: Distance and Cross-Correlation (CC), with the CC method being used in this study. Files named after the four datasets contain monthly average evaporation values, which are used for TCH calculations. TCH has several constraint methods for solving, and two types are included in the code. For this study, the H constraint was used. For more detailed explanations, please refer to the relevant literature or the Data and Methods section of the paper.
