The influence of business angel investment and key variables on startup performance

Abstract Business angels also known as angel investors are the high net worth individuals with significant business experience investing in startups and new growing business. They have built their vast network of investors, potential investors, distributors and customers. These solid chain of individuals and institutions helps startups in breaking the stigma of supply chain management. The paper analysed 30 firms with the use of fsQCA technique to determine Business Angel investment impact on survival of firms. The analysis showed that business angel investment individually does not affect the startups survival. The current set of conditions, namely, size, sector, use of technology and incubation couldn’t significantly impact the long term survival of firms.
