Blockchain-Based Volunteer and Donation Management System with Enhanced Transparency and Security

Abstract - Blockchain technology has redefined data management as a distributed, transparent and secure means of conducting transactions. However, none of the volunteer or donation systems in use today have the kind of transparency, security or simple tracking systems as most non-profits. This paper presents a blockchain-based system designed to track volunteerism and donations. The blockchain provides an immutable ledger for transparency, along with an automatic donation disbursement and volunteer reward mechanism using smart contracts. A modified model was designed specifically for volunteer's activity logs and donation history to ensure data integrity and accessibility. This service runs as a cloud-based application program interface which is developed to integrate with main non-profit management systems. This technological approach enhances transparency, security, and efficiency to improve confidence with stakeholders while improving non-profit operations. A benchmark review demonstrates significant improvements in data accuracy and transaction speed, along with user satisfaction.
