Effect of Progressive Fitness Training Program on Selected Physical Fitness Variables Among Seventh-Graders

This study investigates the impact of the Progressive training program on physical fitness variables inseventh-graders. A total of 100 participants from Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Swami ShivanandaHigher Secondary School in Coimbatore, aged between 11 to 13 years, took part in the research.Independent Variable: Progressive Fitness Training Program, Dependent Variables: Speed, lower bodyexplosive strength, and agility. Criterion measures included a 30-meter fly start to assess speed, theStanding Broad Jump for lower body explosive strength, and a 10-meter by 4 Shuttle run to evaluateagility. The data were analysed using a paired ‘t’ test to determine differences between pre- and post-testresults. The year-long training protocol consisted of two training sessions per week, with each sessionlasting 60 minutes. Findings indicate significant improvements in speed, lower body explosive strength, and agility among the students, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Progressive training program.
