HawkerHub – Connecting Local Hawkers to Modern Consumers
The HawkerHub is designed to address the pressing challenges faced by traditional street vendors in urban areas. Street vendors, who are an essential part of informal economies, struggle to remain visible and competitive as digital platforms such as Amazon and Swiggy continue to dominate urban markets. HawkerHub integrates real-time geolocation services, mobile commerce, and vendor management tools to offer hawkers an opportunity to enhance their visibility and operational efficiency. Using a mixed-methods approach that includes hawker interviews, customer surveys, and platform data analysis, this study evaluates HawkerHub’s impact on hawker visibility, sales, and customer satisfaction. The platform has resulted in an 80% increase in customer engagement.
