Music and drama are considered to be a combined form. Sirkazhi Arunachalakavirayar is considered to be the first to create such a musical drama in Tamil. His Rama drama Kambaramayanam was staged on the same day as Panguni in 1772 AD. He created a musical drama based on this story in the form of a play. This drama was spread as a musical drama and in the form of Kathakalaksepa.
