«Етика піклування» «з кулаками» у романі Тамари Горіха Зерня «Доця»
The controversy of the professed “ethics of care” lies in the fact that the theory, the basics of which were formulated by Carol Gilligan in 1982, emerged in the discourse of feminist critique. In this regard, the theory has acquired a limited dimension, as it was largely based on ideas about complex or, rather, unjust, and unequal relationships between men and women. However, these ideas have proved to be virtually inapplicable in the context of the aggressive war waged by russia against Ukraine. Arguably, one of the best proofs is Tamara Horikha Zernia’s novel Daughter, in which manifestations of caring are not based on defencelessness but, paradoxically, on uncompromising attitudes towards enemies and traitors. The conclusion is made that it is necessary either to abandon the pseudo-humanistic principles of this theory or to add to the “ethics of caring” the possibility of implementing the ethics with the help of, figuratively speaking, “fists”.
