Stress Analysis of Metals: Structural Performance
Stress analysis is a critical aspect of understanding the mechanical behavior of metals under various loading conditions. This study investigates the methodologies used for stress analysis, including analytical, experimental, and computational approaches. The paper focuses on the principles and applications of techniques such as strain gauge measurement, finite element analysis (FEA), and X-ray diffraction for residual stress evaluation. Experimental analysis was conducted on common metals like steel, aluminum, and titanium under tensile, compressive, and shear loads to study their stress-strain behavior. Results highlight the correlation between material properties, microstructure, and stress distribution, offering insights into material selection and design optimization. Emerging trends such as machine learning integration and advanced imaging for stress analysis are also discussed, emphasizing their potential in advancing structural integrity assessment.
