Bibliographical direction in the organizational structure of the Byelorussian Republican Scientific Agricultural Library (1960–1962)

Due to the contradictory information in the documentary sources, the article aims to give the exact names of the bibliographic structural unit of the Byelorussian Republican Scientific Agricultural Library (BRSAL) in the initial period of its activity. The study found that in 1960 this division of the BRSAL had the name “The Department of Scientific Bibliography”, in 1961 – “Reference and Bibliographic Department”, and in 1962 – “Department of Cataloguing, Bibliography and Literature Processing”. All this time the department was headed by the head of the cataloguing department Nina Konstantinovna Granshchikova, the first two years she worked part-time (on a voluntary basis), and in 1962, having accepted it as a part of her department on an official level. It was found that in the early 1960s librarians with the position of bibliographer performed labor duties not only in the bibliographic department, but also in the “Foreign Department” of the BRSAL. The staff of the bibliographic department was revealed: during 1960–1961 P.Ya. Frolov, I.A. Basalaeva and V.M. Murashko were successively enrolled in its structure.
