THE TRANSFORMATION AND SEMANTIC ASPECTS OF METAPHOR AND ALLEGORY IN TRANSLATION
Metaphor and allegory are integral components of literary expression, often serving as powerful tools to convey abstract ideas, emotions, and cultural values. However, their translation poses unique challenges due to their reliance on cultural, linguistic, and contextual cues. When metaphors and allegories cross linguistic boundaries, they are subject to transformation and semantic shifts, raising questions about fidelity, equivalence, and interpretive strategies in translation. This paper explores how these figures of speech are transformed in translation and examines the semantic changes they undergo in the process.
