Modeling a Consortium for Medical College Libraries in Bangladesh: A Proposal
The study aimed to assess the feasibility of a consortium for medical college libraries in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A semi-structured questionnaire was developed based on a literature review, and ten libraries were selected as research sites. Data was analyzed using SPSS 25th Version. The study found that the current state of medical college libraries is underprivileged, and there are major issues such as institutional barriers, lack of ICT infrastructure, budget constraints, poorly trained staff, lack of cooperation, and legislative measures. More educational programs, refresher courses, and professional communication sessions should be organized to address these. The study proposed a model plan for resource sharing, technology transfer, and service innovation.
