International trafficking of cultural goods and geopolitical issues
The PITCHER project (Erasmus+ Programme, 2021-2024) designed and tested a set of Open Educational Resources focused on improving the capacity of teachers and educators in preparing new learning experiences to support the fight against archaeological looting and illicit trafficking of cultural goods. This resource is specially designed for French high school students taking the speciality ‘Histoire-Géographie,Geopolitics and Political Science’ and the “Law and the Major Issues of the Contemporary World” option. It involves the study of three documentary files, accompanied by questions, on the illicit trafficking of cultural goods in Egypt, Syria and Guatemala. It can therefore be an interesting basis for students who wish to present a major oral on these subjects. Secondary school pupils have not been forgotten; the more accessible file on Guatemala will also enable them to tackle this subject.
